What is a Community Market?

A community market is a market run for the benefit of the community and is not solely profit driven. All funds generated from the Kirribilli Market go toward the running of the Kirribilli Centre which to provides a number of services for the local community including the Bradfield Park Carers Program, free legal advice and much more.

In 2015, The Kirribilli Markets were nominated and won the Better Bussiness Partnerships North Sydney Champion, Waste Saver Award for the amount of rubbish we had diverted from landfill. ( At the time of the award more than 8000Kg)

Better Business Partnerships

The Kirribilli Markets have partnered with the Better Business Partnership who have assisted us to workout strategies to reduction our carbon footprint and have a more sustainable and enjoyable market for everyone. See the below video for more info

Smith Family

The Kirribilli Markets have partnered with The Smith Family and provides charity cloths bins at each Market for the disposal unsold secondhand clothing. Well over 8000kg of clothing have been collected through these bins which has greatly reduced the Markets waste footprint and benefits a great charity. The bins are located at each Market near the markets management tent.

Bio-degradable disposables

All food vendors at the markets are encouraged to use as far as possible biodegradable utensils and containers. The aim of the Market is to reduce in all the ways we can the amount of waste we send to landfill and to make the Market an ecologically sustainable enterprise.
